Barr Eamhain MhachaTá CAIRDE Teo ag eagrú picnic do pháistí Gaelscoile agus a dteaghlaigh Dé Sathairn 17 Bealtaine in Ard Mhacha. Beidh an picnic ar siúl ag Eamhain Mhacha mar chuid de phicnic náisiúnta atá á chomhordú ag Comhluadar, an eagraíocht náisiúnta  a thacaíonn le teaghlaigh a bhfuil an Ghaeilge mar chéadteanga acu agus le tuismitheoirí atá ag iarraidh a bpáistí a thógáil trí Ghaeilge. Is é an aidhm atá leis an phicnic ná páistí a spreagadh an Ghaeilge a úsáid taobh amuigh den seomra ranga agus deis a thabhairt do thuismitheoirí bualadh lena chéile agus smaointí a roinnt ar thógáil pháistí tríd an Gheilge.

Agus dhá aip úr dátheangach d’Eamhain Mhacha anois ar fáil, iarrtar ar thuismitheoirí na h-aipeanna a íoslódáil chuig a n-uirlisí Apple agus Android trí chuardach a dhéanamh ar Cú Chulainn’s Challenge agus Discover Navan Fort. Dearadh Dúshlán Chú Chulainn le cuidiú le páistí foghlaim faoi bhunú Gaelach na cathrach trí chluichí idirghníomacha a úsáideann teicneolaíocht satailíte. Is é an aidhm atá leis an chluiche ná teacht ar na taiscí éagsúla fíorúla atá thart ar Eamhain Mhacha sula mbaineann siad barr an chnoic amach. Tá an cluiche ar fáil i mBéarla chomh maith leis an Ghaeilge.

Más tuismitheoir thú ar pháiste atá ag freastal ar Ghaelscoil áitiúil agus más mian leat freastal ar an phicnic, déan teagmháil le Seán in oifig Cairde Teo thuas staighre sa Eurospar nó ar sean@cairdeteo.com nó 028 3751 5229. Eagraíonn Cairde Teo imeachtaí éagsúla teaghlaigh le tacú le páistí atá ag freastal ar Ghaelscoileanna sa cheantar. Má tá suim agat do pháiste a thógáil trí mheán na Gaeilge nó má tá suim agat an Ghaeilge a fhoghlaim, buail isteach chuig oifig Cairde Teo.

Local Irish language organisation CAIRDE Teo is organising a picnic for Irish speaking children and their families on Saturday 17 May in Armagh. The picnic will take place at Navan Fort and is part of a national picnic which is being coordinated by Comhluadar, the national organisation which supports Irish speaking families and parents who are raising their children through Irish. The aim of the picnic is to encourage the children to use their Irish outside of the classroom and to give parents the opportunity to meet up and share ideas about raising children through the medium of Irish.

With the launch of the new bilingual apps at Navan Fort, parents are encouraged to download the apps onto their apple and android devices by searching for CúChulainn Challenge and Discover Navan Fort. CúChulainn Challenge is designed to help children learn about the Gaelic origins of the city, while taking part in a number of interactive games using satellite technology. The aim is to find the various virtual treasures placed around Navan Fort before making it to the top of the mound. The game is available in English as well as in Irish.

If you are a parent of children from the local Irish medium schools and you would like to attend the picnic, you can contact Seán in the Cairde Teo office upstairs in the Eurospar or on sean@cairdeteo.com or 028 3751 5229. Cairde Teo organises various family events to support children attending local Irish medium schools. If you are interested in raising your family through the medium of Irish or in learning Irish, call in to the Cairde Teo office.
