campa macha1 2015Beidh Campa Mhacha ar siúl arís i mbliana ag Ionad Eamhain Mhacha ón Luan 6 Iúil go dtí an Aoine 10 Iúil. Seo an naoú bliain don champa samhraidh is rathúla sa chathair agus an t-aon champa in Ard Mhacha a fhreastalaíonn ar dhaltaí Gaelscoile amháin. Tá dhá fo-champa ann. Tá ceann acu dírithe ar pháistí idir Rang 1 agus Rang 3 agus i measc na n-imeachtaí a bheas ar siúl, beidh cluichí, ceol, scéalaíocht agus ealaíon, bhéarfaidh Cleamairí Ard Mhacha cuairt, beidh ceardlann i ndéanamh milseán agus beidh turas chuig Tír na bhFathach ag Sliabh gCuilinn. Tá an dara campa dírithe ar pháistí ó Rang 4 fo Rang 7 agus áirítear ar na h-imeachtaí drámaíocht, sport agus ealaíon, turais báid ar an Abhainn Mhór agus turas go Páirc an Chrócaigh.

Is é príomhchuspóir an champa ná Gaeilgeoirí óga a spreagadh leis an teanga a úsáid taobh amuigh de thimpilleacht na scoile. Mairfidh an campa idir 10am agus 4pm. Ní mór do pháistí lón pacáilte a thabhairt leo achan lá agus na héadaí cuí bheith acu do ghníomhaíochtaí an lae. Tá foirmeacha iarratais anois ar fail ó oifig CAIRDE Teo sa siopa Gaeilge atá lonnaithe in Ionad Siopadóireachta Chathair Ard Mhacha ar Shráid Thomáis.

Faigheann an campa páirtmhaoiniú ó Sheirbhís Óige an Údarás Oideachais agus ó Fhoras na Gaeilge. Tá táille £25 ann don chéad pháiste sa chlann agus £20 d’achan pháiste ina dhiaidh sin sa chlann chéanna, rud a chuidíonn linn a chinntiú go dtig campa samhraidh ardchaighdeáin a sholáthar le scoth na n0-imeachtaí agus na dturas. Tá líon teoranta spásanna ar fáil agus le tuilleadh sonraí a fháil nó le do pháiste a chlárú don eispéireas speisialta cultúrtha seo, dean teagmháil le h-oifig CAIRDE Teo ar 028 3751 5229 nó sean@cairdeteo.com. 10440645_667553119994897_8579009275258157848_nArmagh’s annual Irish language summer camp, Campa Mhacha, will take place this year at the Navan Centre between Monday 6 July and Friday 10 July. The popular camp, now in its ninth year, is organised by city-based community group CAIRDE Teo for children who attend Irish medium primary schools. The first camp is for children between Rang 1 and Rang 3 and activities will include games, music, storytelling and art, as well as a visit from the Armagh Rhymers, a special sweet-making workshop and a trip to the Giant’s Lair at Slieve Gullion. The second camp is for children between Rang 4 and Rang 7 and includes activities such as drama, sports and art, with boat trips on the Blackwater river and a trip to Croke Park.

The primary aim of the Camp is to encourage local children to use spoken Irish outside the school environment. Camp activities will take place between 10am and 4pm . Children must bring a packed lunch each day and have appropriate clothing for that day’s activities. Applications for this year’s camp are now open and forms are available in the Cairde Teo office which is located in the Irish language and Celtic craft shop Seacht, in the Armagh City Shopping Centre on Thomas Street.

998355_484555034961374_1221054103_nThe Camp receives partial financial assistance from the Education Authority’s Youth Service and from Foras na Gaeilge. However, a nominal surcharge of £25 for a first child and £20 for subsequent children is required to cover the costs of delivering a high quality, professional summer camp. A limited number of places are still available for this year’s Camp. For further details or to register your child for this unique cultural experience, please contact CAIRDE Teo’s office on 028 (048) 37 515229 or e.mail sean@cairdeteo.com.
