Armagh hurlers will travel to Croke Park this Saturday 4 June to take on Maigh Eo at 3.30pm in the Nicky Rackard hurling final. The hurlers won their first round tie against Dún na nGall and then entered the qualifiers following defeat to Saturday’s opponents. Ard Mhacha went on to beat Longfort and Fine Gall to reach the final of the third tier All-Ireland hurling competition. Armagh have already had a successful year, having won the Division 2B league title and promotion to Division 2A. In their league campaign, Armagh defeated Mayo, as well as Christy Ring sides Down, Wicklow and Meath who play Antrim in the Christy Ring final which follows the Armagh game. Best wishes to all of the players on Saturday, especially the Gaeilgeoirí, Declan Coulter, Simon Doherty and Fintan Woods who have attended a number of Cairde Teo events and classes. Best wishes also to manager Sylvester McConnell, to the management team and backroom team which includes our own Irish language officer, Seán Ó Maoilsté. If you would like a great day out for the family, come to Croke Park this Saturday to support Armagh as they aim to win a second national title this year. Ard Mhacha abú.
