VÓTÁIL ANOIS!! VOTE NOW!! Vótáil CAIRDE!! Vote for CAIRDE!!
The Irish language has been back in the news media a lot in recent months. While there has been much talk about the rights of the Irish speaking community, organisations promoting Irish on the ground have been under sustained attack in terms of funding for the valuable work that they do in promoting opportunities to learn the language and to use it in a social and recreational setting.
In order to counter some recent cutbacks to both Irish language core-funding and programme funding in Armagh City, CAIRDE has recently applied to Ulster Bank’s Skills and Opportunities Fund for financial assistance. Our main aim is to develop the skills and capacity of the Irish language community in Armagh in preparation for the forthcoming opening of the Aonach Mhacha Cultúrlann – a brand new state of the art, community owned hub for the promotion of Irish, soon to be erected on the site of the former fire station.
VÓTÁIL GO LUATH, VÓTÁIL GO MINIC!
The funding will help to create employment for Irish speakers in the area and to set up social economy ventures within the new Cultúrlann. If we are successful, training opportunities will be available for young Irish school leavers and graduates who will be encouraged to explore alternatives to low paid and insecure employment.
Help us to help the next generation of Irish speakers in Armagh! Please give us your vote! You may vote several times by using different devices e.g. laptop, desktop, phone, ipad, tablet devices, etc.
Please share and don’t forget to vote early and often!!!
